$800.00
Description
For sale we have an ultra cool ca. 1933 KayKraft Style A Venetian Archtop Acoustic Guitar in a Vintage Burst. Made in Chicago, 1932- 33, this run with the gold made possibly as presentation guitars for the Chicago World’s Fair of 1933. Here is a great read on these- https://www.vintageguitar.com/3469/kaykraft-style-a/ This guitar is in good, playable condition, and has a nice, zippy tone to it. Style A, so a ribbon mahogany back and sides, with a spruce top. Mahogany neck, ebony board. Frets and neck binding in good health. Original pick guard. This guitar features a bolt mechanism with a shim so that you can adjust neck action with ease. Non original old bakelite bridge, old replaced tail piece, a very stable and very old top crack repair on the lower bout, and has a small crack in the top under the tail piece that could use a cleat, but does not affect tone or playability. Overall though, for a nearly 100 year old guitar, a true, playable survivor in solid good condition. The “decalomania” gold all over it is in great shape, healthy vintage binding . . . this is a solid, highly enjoyable playing vintage guitar. Comes with a cool old “gator” style chip board case. Local sales only, give us a call for an appointment- 828.253.2003.
