On consignment we have a 1986 Alvarez Yairi DY45 dreadnought acoustic guitar (the second of two in stock right now, the #2 is strictly for inventory purposes), made in Japan at the workshop of the famed luthier Kazuo Yairi. Described in the original catalog as a “Vintage Dreadnought”, it has a dark mahogany finish with a deep amber burst on a Canadian spruce top. This guitar is original, and comes in a modern Alavarez DC-1 hard shell case (a $150 case) that fits to perfection, no electronics installed. This guitar is in solid good condition. No abuse, a couple of dings in the tip, some pickguard scratching, but no abuse or rash. Has been played and shows some scratches and dents, but overall cosmetically very satisfying. Excellent fret and fingerboard health, plus excellent playability with a string action of 2.2 mm at the 12th fret (top of fret crown to bottom of string).
