Take a good look at the photos, and keep on reading. Local sale only. Give us a call at 828.253.2003 for more details or an appointment.
Condition– Fair “players” condition. Lots of use, no major repairs. This black metallic finish, which has a good bit of deep dark green and gold in it, shows lots of signs of use, but no attempts at touch up. Scratches, wear, some body dings. Lots of dings on the top of the headstock. The gold hardware plating shows plenty of wear, but works as it should. The strap buttons are non-original, the one on the upper bout has been relocated. All original knobs show use and age. The back of the neck has no ring rash, but there is a ding. The fingerboard and inlays are pretty clean. The frets have been polished, and being medium, show surprisingly little wear, 90%. A good scratch to the battery compartment cover, some rash/dings on the back.
Electronically this bass is stock original to 1983. The knob layout is Master volume / master tone , Gain/Volume Control, PU selector, Bass Boost /Cut, Mid Boost/Cut, Treble Boost/Cut, EQ Bypass switch. The 3 larger controls work clean, don’t cut out, but being vintage might give you a little crackle from time to time. The smaller EQ pots work without cutting out, but being more set and forget, might give you a little crackle when sweeping. The switch works as it should, but being old, might fuss a small bit, could be a candidate for replacement. The stereo output jack works fine. Overall, this bass has a pleasing tone and seemingly solid reliability.
The case is original, shows lots of wear and use, but still functions well, and the top is covered in all kinds of 80s stickers. We do not have the case key, but all latches work. The inside of the case is clean has has no weird smells.
