Description

On consignment (sorry no trades) we have a 1969 Fender Bronco electric guitar in red w/a vintage Bulwin hardshell case. Made in USA. This guitar is in very good, collectible condition, and outside of replaced pickguard screws is completely original. This guitar does need a mod/repair to be fully functional (read below). The Bronco was a model produced by the Fender company from mid 67 until 1981. It used the body and neck from the Fender Mustang, but had only one pickup and a different tremolo mechanism (original bar included), as well as a 24″ scale length. Poplar body, 22-fret maple neck with rosewood board that weighs 7#4oz. This is a very cool guitar that to this date has not been re-issued.

This guitar is in remarkably good condition for its age, and appears to have seen very little action.  For a 54 year old guitar, the original red finish shows some age and a little bit of from the factory citrus peel look here and there, but overall very good condition. Overall this guitar has a wonderful vintage patina and look to it. Frets, dots and fingerboard in very good condition. A healthy neck with a string action (12th fret crown to bottom of string) of 1mm, super fun to play. Original pick up and pots working and good. Here is what this guitar needs. Fender shipped these as  student guitar built with quality components, but with the worlds wonkiest ground (see photo) . . . yes . . . that is a guitar string going from the trem to the cavity for “ground” . . . Google away. This guitar needs to be re-grounded, and might require slight modification to do it. For some, this affects originality and collectibility, for others, this needs to be done to play and enjoy the guitar, we will let you make that call.
